The idea is to re-introduce aquatic & wetland habitat along the sheetpiled shoreline of Milwaukee’s harbor. Marek Landscaping, LLC applied Floating Islands International’s technology to the riverine environment. We would like to thank Groundwork Milwaukee, Wisconsin Dept. of Natural Resources, Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District, & Southeast Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission as project partners and Great Lakes Restoration Initiative, Fund for Lake Michigan, Floating Islands International, and Midwest Floating Islands as project funders and partners.
